City of Coalinga Issues Temporary 24 Outdoor Watering Restriction

URGENT: CITY OF COALINGA ISSUES TEMPORARY 24-HOUR OUTDOOR WATERING RESTRICTION Coalinga, CA — The City of Coalinga has been informed by the Westlands Water District that an unexpected issue has occurred in the Coalinga Canal. Westlands is actively working to resolve the error and restore water deliveries as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, the City continues to rely on limited storage from Palmer and Calaveras Reservoirs due to the ongoing rehabilitation of the Derrick Reservoir. To ensure that available water supplies remain sufficient for essential use and as a preemptive measure, the City of Coalinga is implementing a mandatory 24-hour suspension of all outdoor watering, effective immediately.

This temporary measure is being taken as a precaution to help manage our community’s water supply while Westlands addresses the canal issue. The City will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available and sincerely appreciates the community’s understanding and cooperation.
